Junior Goalkeeper Camp
The Junior Goalkeeper Camp is designed for boys and girls entering grades 3-5 in the fall of 2016 who are developing players or first-time players. The experience will help to provide participants with an understanding and appreciation of proper goalkeeping skills and techniques. Time will be devoted to basic skills and concepts important to the younger player in a positive atmosphere. Under the direction of Jerry Hare and his staff, camp participants will learn the importance of proper preparation such as warm-up and stretching prior to participation as well as foundation skills and tactics. The Hare Goalkeeper Academy also stresses the importance of enjoying the game of soccer, even while learning. Campers will be able to showcase their new skills in a series of fun and challenging games!
Middle School Goalkeeper Camp
The Middle School Goalkeeper Camp is designed for a more serious player that is looking for a more challenging level of instruction. It is geared for goalkeepers who are entering grades 6-8 in the fall of 2016. Our camp program utilizes the latest methods in training and instruction. Our nationally-licensed coaching staff will expose the campers to various game environments using modern equipment and excellent facilities to help take their game to the next level of the development process. Each camper will be challenged in training sessions for individual skill development, as well as application of these skills in group tactics. All campers will be provided with instruction based on their individual needs and abilities. This is also an excellent camp to prepare them for the upcoming season.
High School & College Goalkeeper Pre-Season Camp
The Hare Goalkeeper Academy offers a truly unique opportunity for serious and dedicated goalkeepers, to get themselves prepared for their elite club, ODP, high school and college seasons. This camp is designed to fine-tune and prepare the motivated goalkeeper to enter his / her team pre-season camp with confidence and a competitive edge. The training would stress how to compete to WIN the starting job, or how to KEEP the starting job by preparing the goalkeepers in all levels of the position. This camp creates an environment to challenge the goalkeeper to advance to a higher level of performance. This camp is an excellent preparation for the incoming college freshman entering into collegiate level. The training is intense and competitive. The camp includes technical training, footwork training, pressure training, psychological preparation and competitive games. The format of this camp involves a combined conditioning-technical training session in the morning, functional-tactical training session in the afternoon and goalkeeper competitions or games in the evening. Goalie Wars are one of the campers’ favorites. The number of campers is limited to insure maximum results for each keeper. There will be separate sessions for high school and collegiate goalkeepers. The campers will meet and train with other goalkeepers from around the country. With special permission from Camp Director Jerry Hare, a high school senior goalkeeper would be able to participate in the college session. Each player will receive a written evaluation at the end of camp.
The coaching staff will be lead by Gerald “Jerry” Hare, Owner & Director of Hare Goalkeeper Academy and Goalkeeper Coach at Shady Side Academy. The HGA Camps Coaching Staff includes top-level college, high school, ODP and club coaches. They all have many years of experience playing and teaching soccer of all levels. The coaches on the staff are all certified and nationally licensed from National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA), United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United European Football Association (UEFA).
