2012 HARE SOCCER CAMPS - COACHING STAFF

 

 

Camp Director

Gerald “Jerry” Hare has been coaching for twenty-one years with specialty in goalkeeping. His coaching stops have include Hampton High School Boys’ Varsity Soccer (goalkeeper coach), Hampton Soccer Club (Head Coach for U-14 Girls), North Catholic High School Girls’ Varsity Soccer (Head Coach) and Woodland Hills High School Boys’ Soccer (Assistant Varsity Soccer and Head JV Coach). For the past thirteen years, he has been Goalkeeper Coach at Shady Side Academy for the boys’ and girls’ varsity soccer teams, as well as Assistant Coach for 7th & 8th Grade Boys’ Soccer team. Currently, he continues to work as a Goalkeeper Coach for the Boys’ Soccer team as well as Assistant Coach for 7th & 8th Grade Boys’ Soccer team. Post-season experience has included 10 Section titles (1990, 1999-2002, 2004-2008), 2 WPIAL Titles (1990, 2010), 1 PIAA Title (1990), 6 WPIAL Finalists (2002, 2004-2006, 2008), 1 WPIAL Third Place (2007), 1 WPIAL Semifinalist (2001), 2 PIAA Semifinalists (2001, 2008), 4 PIAA Quarterfinalists (2002, 2006-2007, 2010), His playing experience included Hampton High School (1982-1983), Community College of Allegheny County Center North Indoor Soccer Club (1983-1984), Southern Illinois University Soccer Club (1984-1987) and adult soccer leagues for eight years. Coach Hare holds a NSCAA National Goalkeeper Diploma along with NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma and NSCAA High School Coaches Diploma. Coach Hare is a certified CPR Trainer and Sport Safety Trainer (American Red Cross). He resides in Hampton Township.

 

STAFF COACHES

 

Jen Simonetti: USSF “D” License and NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma - State and Regional. Simonetti has just been named as the new Women's Head Soccer Coach at Eastern Oregon University. She is a native of Copley, Ohio was a former head soccer coach at Marietta College (2009-11) and Girls Director of Coaching with the River Valley Soccer Club in West Virginia (2009-11). While in Pittsburgh, Simonetti was a staff coach at the Foothills Soccer Club and the PA-West Olympic Development Program. Her playing experience included University of Dayton (2001-2005), Cincinnati Ladyhawks - W League (2003) and participated in USASA Elite Player Program - National level women’s team. Simonetti is a certified CPR - Sports Injury and Risk Management (American Heart Association). She also received certification from TRX in Suspension Training. (BIO)

 

Mark Platts: USSF “C” License and State Goalkeeper License. Platts has moved from Women’s Head Soccer Coach at Point Park University to Eastern Oregon University as the new Women’s Assistant Soccer Coach. He is a native of Wetherby, England, had been an assistant coach at American Mideast Conference rival Walsh University (2006-2010). His playing experience included Kirk Deighton Rangers F.C. (England) 1988-1999, Bradford City Youth Team (England) 1993-1994, Cuyahoga Community College (OH) 2000-2002 and Walsh University (OH) 2002-2004. Coach Platts is a certified CPR and First Aid Trainer (American Red Cross). (BIO)

 

Mike Spangnolo: NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and USSF “C” License. Presently, Coach Spangnolo is a Head Boys’ Soccer Coach at Freeport High School (Freeport, PA) and former Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

 

Paul Bodnarchuk: NSCAA National Diploma. Bodnarchuk is a Physical Education &

Health teacher, head coach of 7th & 8th Grade Boys Soccer and Varsity Head Track Coach at Shady Side Academy. He played soccer at Springfield College (MA).
