SCHOOL CAMPUS (in Fox Chapel Area of Pittsburgh) The

Hare Soccer & Goalkeeper Camps was founded to provide young players the
opportunity to learn and prepare for a higher level of competitive soccer.
The Academy Session curriculum is designed for players who are ready to make
the transition from recreational to competitive soccer, and the Elite/College
Prep sessions are for the competitive club and high school player who hope to
play college soccer one day. The philosophy of Hare Soccer & Goalkeeper
Camps is simple yet demanding. Our staff is challenged to develop the
technical and tactical skills of their students through dynamic, fun, and
demanding training sessions. Players are grouped according to gender, age and
ability to further create a challenging and positive training environment. We
feel the Hare Soccer & Goalkeeper Camps experience should be one where
coach and player can share the rewards of improvement through a
well-disciplined, educational work ethic. Academy Developmental Soccer & Goalkeeper Day Camp June 21-25, 2010 – Boys & Girls, Ages 8-13 (9am-4pm) The Academy Developmental camp is designed for boys and
girls who want to experience a fun social soccer environment. The boys and
girls will learn skills and be given ideas on how to practice these at home
or on their own. They will have the opportunity to see current and former
college players display their skills first hand. The curriculum is designed to improve all the
basic skills in the game such as dribbling, passing, receiving, etc. Certain
advanced skill activities will be introduced as in fast footwork, 1 v 1
moves, shooting, crossing, and heading. The skills will be repeated so
that they players get to practice them and really learn. Small-sided games will be a major theme of the camp. The numbers for these games range from 2v2’s to 5v5’s. This is where the players will be able to get many touches on the ball while performing different games to help players to understand better in game situations, team tactics and decision making skills. Large sided games will be introduced at this camp. The numbers for these games range from 6 v 6’s to 9 v 9’s. Functional positions and players’ roles will be introduced during these segments. The curriculum for the young goalkeepers focuses on
technique and skill development, including ball handling, kicking, diving,
and the proper way to catch a high ball. There will be daily competitive
goalkeeper games. The primary goal for the younger goalkeepers is to have fun
learning. We
finish each day with an 11v11 game. Goalkeeper
Speed & Agility Camp June 28-July 2, 2010 – Boys & Girls, Ages 8-18
(9am-12noon) Goalkeeper Speed & Agility Camp is
designed to help goalkeepers improve their overall speed, quickness and
agility. The camp is open to both boys and girls. Throughout the five intense
training sessions, athletes will work on improving in the following areas: ·
Off the Mark Speed ·
Agility / Change of Direction ·
Lateral Quickness ·
Flexibility ·
Balance and Coordination ·
Speed with Ball ·
Rapid Acceleration ·
First Step Quickness ·
Vertical Leap ·
Speed of Thought In addition to the training
completed during the camp, athletes will be taught training exercises and
drills that they can complete at home to continue their improvement in these
areas Elite & College Prep Soccer & Goalkeeper Camp July 6-9, 2010 - Boys & Girls, Ages 14-18
(Residents & Extended Day Commuters) This camp is designed for the advanced player and
serious player who are interested of playing college soccer and looking to
improve his / her game. The camp identifies both technical and tactical
aspects of the
game through discussions, current & former college player demonstrations,
coaching sessions, small-sided games and full field competition. Competitive
evening matches will also enhance development and provide players the
opportunity to showcase their ability and potential to perform at the
collegiate level. In addition to field instruction, this camp features a
lecture series including topics such as: strength training, speed and agility
exercises, sports psychology and the college recruiting process. At the
conclusion of the camp, each player will receive a written evaluation to
guide them with their training and development. The curriculum for the older goalkeepers focuses on the physical and tactical aspects of goalkeeping, including one-on-ones, angle play, back passes, boxing or intercepting crosses, footwork, and more. There will be daily competitive goalkeeper games as well as video sessions on game analysis. Every goalkeeper will receive a written and oral evaluation at the end of camp and a list of skills to focus on in the upcoming year. Goalkeeper & Striker Day Camp July
12-16, 2010 – Boys
& Girls, Ages 8-18 (9am-4pm) The Goalkeeper & Striker Camp is designed for
boys and girls, ages 8-18 to receive high quality technical and tactical lessons
for both Goalkeepers and Strikers!!! Each day the goalkeepers and the
strikers will work specifically on their techniques and tactics, and then
they will join together for attacking exercises, which will benefit them on
both sides of the ball. At the end of
the day, everyone will get together for games to test and improve on what
they’ve covered during the day. Both the goalkeeper and the striker are highly
specialized positions and require individual and specialized coaching in
addition to team coaching. A goalkeeper and/ or a striker can be compared to a pitcher in
baseball or a quarterback in football where there are different techniques and skills required than the
rest of the field players. At our Goalkeeper & Striker Camp, we address
this through individual and specialized coaching. Our comprehensive course
gives boys and girls ages 8 and up the opportunity to be coached in this
environment dedicated to improving their techniques and skills ultimately
improving match performance. This
camp allows goalkeepers and strikers to learn and fine-tune all the
techniques and skills required to become a top class player! Working in small groups, this gives the
coaching staff time to identify individual strengths and weaknesses and give
feedback to help improve performance. The main aspects of goalkeeping and
finishing are covered in realistic match related practices giving you the
edge when you return to your team.
Players benefit from working within their proper skill levels to
maximize the challenge and increase their individual improvement and
performance.
